Franklin Obeng-Odoom’s book, Property, institutions, and social stratification in Africa (Cambridge University Press, 2020) challenges prevailing ideas on existing development policies and attempts to provide new alternative perspectives for more equitable economic development in Africa. The economic concepts on which the author relies for this purpose are stratification economics and the ideas of Henry George (1839–1897).
