Comparative Characteristics of Wear Resistance of Gas-Dynamic Coatings Obtained Using Electroerosive Carbides

Abstract

This work presents the results of studying of characteristics of wear resistance of gas-dynamic coatings obtained using electroerosive carbides, prepared by the method of electroerosive dispersing from wastes of VK8 hard alloys in distilled water and illuminating kerosene. Worn plates of the cutting tool from sintered hard alloys of the brand VK8 were used as dispersed material as well as electrodes. Samples with coatings from VK8 powders were prepared on the surface of metal products on a specialized plant for superfast gas-dynamic formation. The results obtained showed that the coatings obtained using electroerosive carbides, prepared by the method of electroerosive dispersion from wastes of hard alloys VK8 in water and illuminating kerosene, possess the best wear resistance due to the significantly higher content of free carbon.
