ABSTRACT
Two new species of the tribe Calacarini Amrine & Stasny (Acariformes: Eriophyidae: Phyllocoptinae) from Guangdong Province, South China are described and illustrated: Calacarus liquidambarus sp. nov. infesting Liquidambar formosana Hance (Altingiaceae), and Liroella excoecarius sp. nov. infesting Excoecaria cochinchinensis Lour (Euphorbiaceae). All mites are vagrants causing no apparent damage to their host plants. Two new combinations are given: Calacarus caricae comb. nov. (synonymy: Phetehaburus caricae) infesting Carica papaya L. (Caricaceae), and Calacarus solani comb. nov. (synonymy: Phetehaburus solani) infesting Solanum seaforthianum Andrews (Solanaceae).
