One of the most important diseases of wheat is septoria leaf blotch caused by Zymoseptoria tritici. Pathogen-related proteins cause disease resistance in plants. To identify the onset time of wheat defence response against the pathogen, two wheat cultivars of susceptible (Tajan) and resistant (Nogal), were inoculated with spores of Z. tritici in the two-leaf stage. Sampling was performed and expression pattern of Ribonuclease, Cysteineprotease and Glutathione peroxidase-1 genes were analyzed by Real-Time PCR method. The results showed that these genes are good candidates for wheat defense and their expression patterns were different in both susceptible and resistant cultivars.
