The impact of heat source at radiant electric heating panel

Among panel systems, underfloor heating is mostly used in Serbia because it offers special benefits in terms of thermal comfort and final energy consumption. Uniform temperature distribution at room height, operation in lower temperature regimes, a fairly simple method of installation and mounting, long service life, simple temperature control by zones and currently low price of electricity in Serbia, are the reason for the increasing use of electric heating cables in underfloor heating systems. In addition to a number of advantages, when using floor panels, the maximum temperature of the free floor surface must be taken into account, because too high a floor temperature adversely affects the thermal comfort in the room. The aim of this research was to examine the influence of the heat source rate, the depth of installation of heating cables and the raster installation of heating cables. In order to more easily define the field of application of electric heating cables in the construction of floor panels, taking into account the previously mentioned influential parameters, in the first part of the paper, the finite volume method was used using the ANSYS Workbench software package. In the second part of the paper, an experimental model of a two-storey test house with electric floor panels was made, which was placed inside the test chamber, all with the aim of examining the behaviour of electric heating cables by monitoring zone temperatures depending on external conditions (outside temperature).
