This edition of the Australasian Journal of Early Childhood (AJEC) brings together seven papers, touching broadly on two topics. The first concerning digital technologies in early childhood education, including the use of digital documentation apps in early childhood classrooms and educator use of technologies with children. The second, examining how the wellbeing, learning and self-efficacy of educators has implications for their capacity to provide for children’s learning in practice. While not directly reporting on COVID-19, these papers do reference many issues of importance within the sector and the early childhood field more broadly in light of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, such as using technologies to document young children’s learning; supporting family child, and educator relationships; and promoting educator wellbeing during challenging times.
