Clausthal University of Technology takes part in an international consortium RawMattersAmbassadors@Schools. Here we present a new tool kit on zinc electrolysis. It illustrates exemplarily the value of alloys as it shows the high amount of energy-, waterand chemicalconsumption in this process. During workshops in schools the process chain – From ore or WEEE to pure metal – will be explained with additional experiments and, in extended versions, through plant visits (French Process, Norzinco, Goslar, Germany).
