The 8th of March 1994 (“Frauenstreik 1994”) was an important date for the German women's labor movement. One million female workers went on strike. The organizers of the 2018 women's rights demonstrations, which were supported by people in more than 20 cities throughout Germany, linked their mobilization efforts with the successful strike of 1994. The women's rights demonstrations in Germany were part of a transnational women's and female worker's mobilization. This global strike and protest movement with women on strike in Argentina, Poland, Spain, and the United States was supported by the anarcho‐syndicalist labor unions from Poland, Inicjatywa Pracownicza (IP), and Spain, Confederación Nacional del Trabajo (CNT). After the successful mobilization in 2018, a network of female workers aims at a nationwide general and political strike in Germany on the 8th of March 2019 (8M) to put the feminist labor movement and its criticism of women's exploitation and discrimination on the general agenda. The 2019 women's strike will not only attack wage labor, but all types of work that women carry out with the consequences of unsafe and violent situations. The female unionists of the German anarcho‐syndicalist labor union Free Workers' Union (FAU; German: Freie ArbeiterInnen‐ und Arbeiter‐Union) are part of the transnational network, which aims at the coordination of female labor unionists and their strike activities. All these mobilization efforts show that female labor activism is increasing. Anarcho‐syndicalist unions are an organizational element and tool for the increasing of women's labor activism.
