Synthesis red-emitting Ca2LaNbO6:xSm3+ phosphors for good color-rendering-index white-LED devices

In this present work, single Sm3+ ion-activated Ca2LaNbO6 phosphors were successfully synthesized by simplify solid-state reaction method. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), elemental mappings, and some other characterizations were presented. The photoluminescence emission (PL) and excitation (PLE) spectra were recorded, and the optimum doping concentration was 5 mol% while the mechanism of concentration quenching was predominant by the diploe-diploe interaction. The optimal Ca2LaNbO6:0.05Sm3+ phosphor exhibited near red region with good thermal stability and lifetime. Eventually, the packaged white-LED device was achieved with a forward current of 300 mA, it could emit a dazzling white light with high CRI value of 86.87, revealing that Ca2LaNbO6: Sm3+ phosphors could be promised for high CRI white communication.
