Parenthood can be characterized as a leap of faith; it is inevitably “risky.” Here, Lynne Wolbert, Doret J. de Ruyter, and Anders Schinkel argue that this characterization of parenthood seems opposite to the current use of the concept of “risk” in contemporary educational theory and policy, which emphasizes that risk is something that is best prevented or avoided. Otto Friedrich Bollnow distinguishes between avoidable risks, on the one hand, and existential risks (Wagnis), on the other. The authors contend that Bollnow’s description of education as a Wagnis (1) reinforces the understanding of child rearing and striving for flourishing as inherently uncertain; (2) contributes to a clarification of the ways in which the concept of risk is being used in educational theory and policymaking; and (3) leads us to recognize “trust” as a key concept in discussing risk taking and child rearing.

父母身份可以说是信仰的飞跃。它不可避免地是“危险的”。Lynne Wolbert,Doret J. de Ruyter和Anders Schinkel在这里辩称,这种对父母身份的描述似乎与当代教育理论和政策中当前使用的“风险”概念相反,后者强调最好地避免风险。或避免。奥托·弗里德里希·博诺(Otto Friedrich Bollnow)一方面区分了可避免的风险,另一方面又区分了存在性风险(Wagnis)。作者认为,Bollnow将教育描述为Wagnis(1)增强了对孩子的养育和努力成长的理解,因为这是固有的不确定性。(2)有助于阐明在教育理论和政策制定中使用风险概念的方式;
