PPSA: Privacy Preserved and Secured Architecture for Internet of Vehicles

The Internet of Things (IoT) connects every object equipped with computing and communication power and provides interaction between the objects to accomplish a task. The Internet of Vehicles (IoV) is a key component of IoT. In IoV, the messages communicated between the vehicles, the infrastructure or the wearable should be reliable and has to be communicated within a short span of time. Existing literatures rely on layered architecture which mainly lies towards IoT architecture. Since in IoV, speed is an important factor and messages should be verified for authenticity, privacy and security becomes an important concern. In this paper, privacy preserved and secured four layer architecture is proposed with its protocol stack and future directions. Performance analysis with existing architecture is compared. By adopting the privacy preserved approach, the analysis shows that the proposed scheme PPSA provides better throughput, Packet Delivery Ratio and End-to-end delay.
