Analysis and compensation of lateral chromatic aberration of structured light 3D measurement system

Color coding greatly improves the measurement efficiency of structured light three-dimensional(3D) measurement system. However, chromatic aberration (CA) reduces the measurement accuracy of the system. In this study, the lateral chromatic aberration (LCA) of camera and projector is analyzed by experiments, and the optimization model of LCA is studied according to the analysis results. Based on the study, a compensation method of system LCA is proposed. The simulation results show that the compensation method is feasible, and the experimental results prove that the proposed method can effectively reduce the measurement error caused by LCA.
