New technology platforms provide many promising tools to support the academic needs of students with disabilities. Almost every issue of Exceptional Children and TEACHING Exceptional Children or any issue of the Journal of Special Education Technology provides examples of technology supporting improved academic or functional skills. In addition to advancing outcomes in academic and functional skills, assistive technology can be a tool to support artistic expression. This brief article presents a few examples of digital art tools and how they could act as assistive technology to benefit students with disabilities.
