Abstract The purpose of the research was to explore the characteristics of the risky sexual behavior of young people in nightlife settings in Slovenia. We used an online questionnaire to collect data on the use of psychoactive substances (PAS), risky sexual behavior and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). The final sample included 1,103 respondents. The respondents are of the opinion that they lack information about STIs and testing. A third responded that getting infected with an STI was a likely possibility for them. The recommendations for upgrading preventive programs in nightlife settings include efforts toward providing information on less known STIs and testing.
