The ALCTS Electronic Resources Interest Group (ERIG) held their ALA Annual 2019 meeting Saturday June 22nd from 1-2pm. The meeting consisted of three presentations related to electronic resource acquisitions and management, facilitated by ERIG cochair Abigail Sparling. The first presentation was given by Beth Bernhardt, Assistant Dean for Collection Management and Scholarly Communications, University of North Carolina Greensboro (UNCG), titled “Purchasing eBooks from the textbook adoption list. Are we making a difference?” Bernhardt’s presentation reviewed UNCG’s initiatives for reducing student costs for textbook purchases. UNCG currently takes a two-prong approach to lowering textbook costs for students:
