The room is dimly lit. Seven directional lights out of a possible 20 are pointed at various oblique angles at the gray polished concrete floor. In two clusters at the center of the room sit 86 clear acrylic discs approximately five inches in diameterwith semi-circular brackets jutting out vertically, attaching two things. The first attachment is an electronic, motorized servo bracket. The second is a single dried stalk of tansy flower. In the absence of rain, sunlight, and soil, the stalks of tansy have lost their golden luster and have turned brown and brittle, some crumbling onto the floor. They are affixed to the servo/brackets with two white plastic halos, each with three pins, reminiscent of the apparatuses used to set and stabilize traumatic physical injuries. The two clusters are dispersed so that nomore than a foot of empty space exists between them. Connecting each unit is a serpentine network of colored electrical wire. The black, red, and yellow wires lead to densely connected transformers occupying the center of each circular cluster. The work is by American artist
