on the African continent. The substantial presence of video and touch screens featuring film footage and social media content further contributed to an understanding of African fashion as part of a rapidly escalating, media-driven culture. In addition, through a series of talks, workshops, and tours led by designers, cultural anthropologists, and fashion entrepreneurs, the exhibition invited visitors to participate in numerous discussions on a variety of topics, including the interplay between personal and cultural identity, global and local fashion, and the political aspects of fashion, among others. To conclude, Fashion Cities Africa offered rich insights into the dynamic and distinctive contemporary fashion scenes that have developed in different African cities. It reconstructed the image of contemporary African fashion and illuminated how these fashion cultures continue to influence global runways, shape the streets of fashion capitals, and structure our own closets.
