Abstract Between 1942 and 1948, Dance Index was a pioneer journal dealing with many aspects of dance in scholarly fashion. Now, the Eakins Press Foundation and Ballet Society have put all fifty-six issues online. They will also publish two new issues a year, starting with Edward M. Gómez’s “When Noguchi Took the Stage,” which deals with the sculptor’s work designing for dance.
