ABSTRACT In the age of exploration western Eurasia came to dominate much of the world, in part unintentionally, via the medium of smallpox. This was domination across great spatial distances. Analogously, we are dominating distant future people across great spans of time, via the medium of greenhouse gases. Various objections to the latter claim are addressed. The objection that we cannot now dominate people who do not yet exist is answered by considerations from relativity physics.
