Allika Ruby died of cancer in Winters, California, on 25 October 2017. She was only 48 years old. She leaves behind her husband and fellow archaeologist, Richard T. Fitzgerald, her daughter Calla R. Ruby, her parents Jacqelen Ruben and Richard M. Ruby, sister Keturah Anderson, and several aunts, uncles, and a nephew.
