This 2020 WSCA Presidential Address is on the 2019 WSCA Convention theme: Advocating with Evidence. The theme is that there is a need to better establish the connection between the Communication discipline and the teaching about and scholarship on the uses and effects of evidence and reasoning. The Communication discipline also needs to develop their collection and use of evidence on the accomplishment of learning outcomes. Finally, WSCA Interest Groups can improve by developing as “evidence communities.”
