Robert H. Taylor

If you want to read a volume based on a wide reading of the extensive literature on Indonesia, and particularly on the country post the Suharto era, this multiple-author text is for you. The three authors are all based in academic institutions in Melbourne and are among the significant number of Australians who study their neighbour. Indonesia, the fourth largest country in the world with the largest predominantly Muslim population, is perhaps underrated in the consideration of most international observers. They consider this neglect in their introductory chapter; in their hearts and in the conclusion to the volume, they agree it is given less attention than it deserves.
