throughout India, including Sindh, were required to organise the supply of examples of arts and crafts for display and sale in Britain, and later in Europe at various international exhibitions. Through different channels, textiles and embroidery from Sindh achieved considerable renown from the 19 century – though it is only now through the enthusiasm and expertise of Nasreen and Hasan Askari that the subject has been given such a well-researched base.
