The theme for this year’s annual conference for NAME is “Decolonizing Minds: Forging a New Future through Multicultural Education.” We hope that you are able to join us for this year’s conference in Tucson, Arizona from November 6–10, 2019. Keynote speakers for this year’s annual conference are leaders in the field of multicultural education and will help the membership of NAME further consider important directions our work should attend to and how we can be better attuned to and responsive to the students and families we serve in schools. Members of NAME will also be giving presentations on their research, scholarship, and advocacy and further enrich our study of multicultural education in local and global contexts. As we prepare to participate in this year’s conference, the authors of articles in this issue of Multicultural Perspectives also help remind us of the important work that we need to do in schools and provide us with concrete strategies on how we can improve our work with students and teachers in schools and in university teacher preparation settings.
