ABSTRACT

The present study examined what grandchildren would like their grandparents to teach them about ways of seeing the world and of being in the world to help them in their development toward adult life. A questionnaire based on Apter’s Reversal Theory and inspired by the literature on grandparenthood proposed motives that could lead adolescents to label their grandparents as “good” grandparents. It was completed by 294 French adolescents aged 10 to 19 years. Results indicate that four broad factors underlie the characteristics of “good” grandparents: teaching their grandchildren prosocial behavior, self-regulation, independence, and above all how to enjoy life.

本研究调查了孙辈希望他们的祖父母教他们如何看待世界和身处世界的方式，以帮助他们向成年生活发展。一份基于 Apter 逆转理论并受祖父母文献启发的问卷提出了可能导致青少年将祖父母标记为“好”祖父母的动机。它由 294 名 10 至 19 岁的法国青少年完成。结果表明，“好”祖父母的特征有四个广泛的因素：教他们的孙子亲社会行为、自我调节、独立，最重要的是如何享受生活。
