Latham also effectively illustrates the usefulness of government information by peppering in examples of common but tricky types of reference questions whose answers can efficiently be found in government sources. Who knew all you needed is your zip code to find out which of your local facilities and sites are regulated by the EPA? Although the author states at the outset that this book is not meant to be exhaustive, it is indeed a fountain of information for depository librarians as well as any librarian who may use government information and wants to become more adept. Finding and Using U.S. Government Information is a must-have for subject librarians in academic libraries with regard to the wealth of subject specific resources that are provided. The book also contains a useful general index and a reference index. An appendix style compilation of the many web resources throughout the book, however, would have been a welcome addition.
