International commercial litigation in English-speaking Africa: a critical review

It is a pleasure to read for the purpose of review, a book written by Moran and Kennedy, which is based on international commercial litigation in English-speaking Africa. The work is an important study and a significant contribution to the subject. The book under review (“the book”) is worth reviewing for two main reasons. First, this is the first book dedicated to the subject of international commercial litigation in English-speaking Africa – an important area of private international law in Africa. Second, it presents an opportunity to raise greater awareness of the significance of international commercial litigation in Africa. Over a decade ago, Oppong lamented the “stagnation” in the development of private international law in Africa. That position is no longer as true as it was then – there is progress.
