Looking back over the issues in this volume, article topics ranged from preparing teachers in the areas of technology and math to exploring nurturing and love in teacher preparation and education. We had a fantastic special issue focused on Preparing Early Childhood Teacher to Assist Children who are Caught in Disasters with guest editor Judit Szente. The field of early childhood teacher education has a complex task to prepare teachers for a variety of situations and contexts and this special issue addressed topics such as psychosocial needs of refugees and pre-service teachers’ understanding of homelessness. Across the issues, authors, researchers, professionals, practitioners are continually striving to address critical topics in early childhood teacher preparation and education. Researchers are taking unique and innovative approaches to understanding, examining, and sharing their work as the field continues to prepare a high quality effective workforce. This volume included articles not only about methods and strategies for addressing specific content related to teacher preparation in early childhood education, but it also included reflections and discussion of role of teacher educators and understanding their responsibilities and perspectives. Serving as the editor for this volume has again provided me the opportunity to interact with authors and researchers who are passionate about their work and strong advocates and champions for early childhood teacher education and preparation. I thank all the researchers, teacher educators, and authors for their work and thank them for their interest and perseverance in developing and disseminating their work. And, I thank the editorial board as well as numerous guest reviewers who have contributed their time and expertise to this volume. Reviewers’ constructive feedback and guidance for authors supports the continued publication of articles that are well written, meaningful contributions to the field of early childhood teacher education.
