Due to the need for very high data rates in 5G, terrestrial radio links at millimeter-wave frequencies (particularly in the E band) are of paramount importance for use in the network front-/backhauling. An accurate estimation of the probability of occurrence of fade duration may help operators in the assessment of radio link time outages. Furthermore, experimental data for relatively long periods of time are needed for the development of a fade duration model.
