This special issue of Evaluation Review presents applications of Bayesian statistical methods to evaluation and policy issues. The articles span a range of issues and novel methods for improving research. We begin the issue, however, with an article presenting an overview of Bayesian statistics for those with little or no knowledge of these methods. It will help readers who need it to get enough information to understand the more sophisticated articles that follow.
