Condition Assessment and Diagnostics of Asynchronous Electric Motors Using Signature Analysis of Consumed Current

Abstract

It has been shown that assessment of the conditions and diagnostics of defects in asynchronous electric motors operating in various industrial installations can be carried out by analyzing the spectrograms of consumed current. The spectrograms were obtained using the diagnostic system of rotary machines (DSRM). A technique to determine the conditions and degree of development of defects in electric motors during their operation is considered; the technique is based on the identification of amplitudes of spectral components of the current spectrum of a working electric motor, which are typical for a specific defect, and comparison of the magnitude of amplitudes with the detection threshold of this defect. The results of diagnostics of defects and their development with time for specific electric motors, as well as the conditions of these electric motors after repairing, have been considered.
