Refined Calculation of the Bearing Stiffness and Load in the Presence of Radial Clearance

Abstract

In this paper an analytical solution to the problem of determining the bearing stiffness and maximum roller load, as well as the number of loaded rollers, is given. Two loading diagrams of a bearing under radial force are considered: when it passes through the center of the fully loaded roller and when it passes between two fully loaded rollers. The problem is solved in the absence and presence of radial clearance.
