Elimination of Structural Inhomogeneity in Controlled-Rolling Steels by Annealing within a Subcritical Temperature Range

Abstract

The possibility of ferrite-pearlite banding elimination and obtaining a dispersed and homogeneous ferrite-carbide structure in controlled rolling steels by means of an additional annealing of plates or finished pipes at subcritical temperature values is discussed. It has been found that the regulation of controlled rolling modes and the additional annealing of plates provide not only obtaining a homogeneous structure, but also a significant strengthening of steel with a simultaneous increase in the impact strength.
