This work is concerned with the minimal speed of traveling waves to a reaction–diffusion system describing host-tissue degradation by bacteria. A condition for the linear selection of the minimal wave speed is established by applying the upper and lower method and incorporating with ingenious upper and lower solutions, which partially verify the presumptions in the known reference.
