The above article, published online on December 5, 2012 on Wiley Online Library (https://doi.org/10.1002/jbm.a.34495), has been retracted by agreement between the journal Editor in Chief and Wiley Periodicals, LLC. following an investigation based on concerns raised by a reader.

The investigation concluded that some of the histology images were utilized to support the scientific results in several other articles under different experimental setups. Thus, the conclusions of this manuscript are considered to be insufficiently supported.
