This suggestion of course does not improve the book, but it may be helpful for readers to get a better reading experience and understanding of corpus pragmatics. To conclude, the book has discussed the major topics in corpus pragmatics, thereby achieving comprehensiveness in content; it has devoted much space to presenting practical guidelines for readers to carry out research tasks, thereby allowing them to get hands-on experience in practicing corpus-pragmatic research. As such, this book would qualify as an essential guide for newcomers to corpus pragmatics. In addition, some directions worth pursuing have also been suggested, providing ‘food for thought for seasoned pragmaticists’ (p. 9).
