Micro-structural evolution of porous asphalt mixture and its influence to key behaviour based on loading action

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to explore the microstructure evolution and key properties of porous asphalt mixture under stress. By comparing the image processing of the cutting surface before and after loading, the damage area was determined and verified by the discrete element modelling and simulation results. The change of cavity and the formation of crack are analysed by two-dimensional image processing technology, and the damage behaviour of cutting surface is explained. Through the improved mechanical test and drainage test, the change of the key properties of the mixture under different damage degree was discussed. The results show that the generation and development of cracks have obvious influence on the splitting tensile strength and drainage performance of porous asphalt mixture, and have certain influence on the splitting shear strength.

摘要

这项研究的目的是探讨多孔沥青混合料在应力下的微观结构演变和关键性能。通过比较加载前后切割面的图像处理,确定损伤区域并通过离散元建模和仿真结果进行验证。利用二维图像处理技术分析了型腔的变化和裂纹的形成,并阐述了切削面的损伤行为。通过改进的力学性能测试和排水性能测试,探讨了混合物在不同破坏程度下关键性能的变化。结果表明,裂纹的产生和发展对多孔沥青混合料的劈裂抗拉强度和排水性能有明显影响,并对劈裂抗剪强度有一定影响。
