A study on corrosion behavior of 15CrMo in saturated saline steam with sodium sulfate

To obtain the corrosion behavior of 15CrMo exposed in saturated saline steam with Na2SO4 at the initial stage, the experiments are implemented in a novel setup. The results show corrosion products are mainly composed of FeOOH, Fe2O3 and Fe3O4. Compared with deionized steam, saline steam promotes the generation of FeOOH and Fe2O3. The generation of Fe3O4 is inhibited by salinity. The contents of FeOOH and Fe2O3 increase with temperature while that of Fe3O4 decreases. The contents of FeOOH and Fe2O3 decrease with time and that of Fe3O4 shows the reverse trend. The content of FeSO4 keeps low all the time.
