Lithium‐Metal Electrodes: Efficient Lithium Growth Control from Ordered Nitrogen‐Chelated Lithium‐Ion for High Performance Lithium Metal Batteries (Adv. Sci. 1/2021)

In article number 2002144, Hyung Mo Jeong and co‐worker suggest an effective 3D lithium (Li) guiding matrix using metal‐organic frameworks comprising a bipyridine linker for high‐performance Li metal batteries. Chelated Li‐ion (Li+) on ordered lithiophilic bipyridine sites induce the uniform Li+ flux on electrodes, leading to isotropic Li growth. The Li‐metal electrodes with the Li guiding matrix in this study show remarkably enhanced performance by establishing densely‐packed Li‐metal growth during operation.
