Valuing and preserving the resources we embed into our engineered materials, products and structures is the only sustainable way forward. One day we may mine asteroids, but for the foreseeable future we will continue to depend on our planet’s resources which are exhaustible, not infinite. We can and must treat our end-of-life engineered objects as precious resources within a circular economy.
