Media, Family Interaction and the Digitalization of Childhood. presents an edited collection of individual works stemming from the Finnish research project ‘Media, Family Interaction and Children’s Wellbeing’. Using video cameras placed within the homes of 26 Finnish families with a five- or 12-year-old child, this project documented the family interactions that occurred around different forms of media. Through an ethnomethodological approach and conversation analysis of the recorded data, the book considers the various ways in which media shapes family interaction, with a particular focus on child socialization.
