The January 2020 issue of the Journal of Mixed Methods Research (JMMR) includes an editorial introducing a new virtual special issue feature, five methodological/theoretical articles, and one empirical methodological article. The virtual special issue feature at JMMR will be an online-only collection of previously published JMMR articles and editorials. A dedicated collection will facilitate the readership’s ability to identify and appreciate the diversity of perspectives on the theme of the virtual special issue. The originally published articles will be listed online together, will retain their existing citation details, and be linked to their original volume and issue in JMMR. The virtual special issues will generally not include articles and editorials that only tangentially touch upon the specific topic of the virtual special issue. Rather, the articles chosen for the virtual special issues will have a main focus on the topic addressed. While the specifics of virtual special issues will likely evolve over time, we look forward to suggestions for virtual special issue topics from the readership, and readers with suggestions or requests should contact either the managing editor or co-chief editors. Each virtual special issue will feature an introduction that will be led by chief or associate editors of JMMR. This overview will identify from the perspective of the editor(s), the key contributions of the articles relative to the theme of the virtual special issue. The use of paradigms has been among the most commonly addressed topics in JMMR and chosen as the primary topic of the inaugural virtual special issue (Molina-Azorin and Fetters, 2020, https://journals.sagepub .com/topic/collections-mmr/mmr-1-paradigms_in_mixed_methods_research/mmr). The first three articles in this issue are methodological/theoretical articles that address dimensions in the mixed methods philosophy dialogue. In the first, Ghiara (2020), with an affiliation in philosophy, proposes to ‘‘disambiguate the role of paradigms’’ in mixed methods research (MMR). She provides a welcome dialogue examining the relationship between MMR paradigms and worldviews. She accomplishes this task first, through her analysis of the claim that mixed
