ABSTRACT

In this paper we investigate solutions to the characteristic Goursat problem with analytic data for a class of linear operators of second order without the Levi's generalized condition. We give an explicit representation of the solutions of the problem involving Kummer functions and show that they are generally singular on the surface K tangent to the characteristic surface S.
