In Situ Synthesis of Hydrangea Finch Coral-like Bi12SiO20 Film with Highly Effective Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction Performance

A hydrangea finch coral-like Bi12SiO20 film with 2D nanosheets was in situ synthesized on a Bi substrate for the first time via an electrochemical-solution ion-exchange method, and it displayed superior CO2 photoreduction activity to CO, reaching 50.64 μmol m–2 in 6 h under simulated sunlight irradiation. Moreover, the particular formation process and CO2 photoreduction mechanism of Bi12SiO20 film were proposed. The findings should provide available in situ preparation for Bi-based films.
