SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERIZATION, DNA BINDING, AND ANTICANCER ABILITY OF A Co(II) COMPLEX CONSTRUCTED BY 2-PROPYL-1H-IMIDAZOLE-4,5-DICARBOXYLIC ACID

The Co(II) complex based on 2-propyl-1H-imidazole-4,5-dicarboxy acid (H2L) is synthesized and characterized. The interaction between the Co complex and fish sperm DNA(FS–DNA) are studied by fluorescence. The flow cytometry analysis shows that the Co complex can induce the apoptosis of HeLa (human cervix epithelia carcinoma cells) tumor cell lines. According to the fluorescence and apoptosis effects, it is speculated that the compound has a potential application value in the field of anticancer agents, and its properties need to be further explored.
