ThisstudyexamineshowtheBigFivepersonalitytraitsandtheuseofsocialnetworkingservices (SNSs)promotejobsatisfactionamongKoreanworkers.ThestudysampleisdrawnfromtheKorean Education&EmploymentPanel(KEEP)for2011,whichgatherscomprehensivedataonKoreans’ individualdemographics,includinginformationregardingtheireducation,families,andworkand personallives.Structuralequationmodelingisemployedtoexaminethemediationmodelbetween Big-Fivepersonalityandjobsatisfactionofworkers.Fromasampleof1,646workersemployedin Koreanworkplaces,theauthorsfoundthattheBigFivepersonalitytraitsweresignificantlyrelatedto SNSusageandjobsatisfaction.SNSusagewasfoundtobeafactorindeterminingjobsatisfaction, andSNSusagepartiallymediatedtherelationshipbetweenpersonality(extroversionandneuroticism) andjobsatisfaction.Toimproveemployees’work-relatedattitudes,organizationsmustrecognizethe growinginfluenceofSNSusageonthoseworkplaceattitudes.
