In this current period, viral diseases are more infectious; some viral diseases vaccine is not designed yet like HIV, and drugs for the disease are costly and also have side effects. Drug-resistant viruses are now treated by nanoparticles and this field is known as nanobiotechnology that relates nanoscience with the biological system. The nanoparticle uses for treatment are both organic and inorganic both have specific target action with minimum side effects. The silver nanoparticle is used for the treatment of HIV, HBV, HSV, influenza virus due to its antiviral activity. Small size capped silver nanoparticle blocks the virus replication. Nanoparticle-based therapeutics have completely replaced the usage of drugs and vaccines for viral diseases treatment. Nanotherapeutics have a limitation as sterilizing of the organic nanoparticle. Silver NP’s large surface area to volume ratio is attributable to their antiviral property. This review focuses on the antiviral activity of silver nanoparticles, its uptake by different viruses for viral disease treatment, nano vaccines, and the limitation of the nanoparticle as nanotherapeutics
