Formore than 40 years, the Journal of Geography in Higher Education has been committed to the promotion, enhancement and sharing of geography learning and teaching in institutions of higher education throughout the world. The journal provides a forum for geographers (and others from cognate disciplines) to present the results of research and to share and discuss common educational interests. The traditional research paper has been at the centre of this discourse, providing a mechanism for the analysis of teaching interventions to be accessible to other practitioners enabling potential impact on the wider community. Over time the journal has published ideas and commentary in a variety of formats, some of which endured. Recently, the advice for authors available on the journal webpage has been updated. The journal welcomes seven types of papers as follows:
