ABSTRACT
My comments focus on general considerations in equating with small samples. I begin with a brief discussion of equating designs and consider issues associated with equating error, including its random and systematic components. I relate these issues to the development of sample size guidelines for equating and discuss the importance of using different types of research designs when investigating equating methods.
