Two-Step Phase-Shifting Algorithm Based on the Quadratic Spatial Filtering of Interferograms

Compared with the existed 2-step algorithms, the proposed QSF algorithm reveals two advantages: First, it reduces the influence of the inaccurate estimation of background intensity on the phase retrieval quality, thereby improving the effectiveness in 2-step PSI. Second, it releases the restriction of the required number of fringes in the interference pattern, because the blind phase shift estimation procedure in the proposed QSF algorithm is not directly related to the fringes number.
